Plumtree Campground and Retreat (PCR) Rules, Regulations, and Etiquette

  1. We adhere firmly to our cancellation policy for all cancellations.
  2. Check in is noon for campers (RV and Tents) and 3 pm for cabins/spaces. Check out time is 11 am, late check outs without approval may incur an additional charge.
  3. Quiet time is 10 pm to 8 am which is enforced.
  4. Be respectful of your neighbors at all times. Do not walk thru occupied sites and on any cabin/studio porches.
  5. No swimming in pond.
  6. Fishing is allowed only for registered guests with the purchase of a trout pass for $10 that allows for the harvest of 1 fish. Max 4 passes/day/site and no fishing after your check out time. No cleaning of fish inside cabins or studios, there is an area next to the Outpost Pavilion where fish can be cleaned. No catch/release and barb less hooks are to be used to prevent damage to fish. There are cameras on the pond and if caught releasing fish, fishing pass will be forfeited and no further fishing will be allowed.
  7. Speed limit on property is 5 mph and watch for children, dogs and walkers. This is strictly enforced and if violated, reservation will be terminated without refund and you will be asked to leave property.
  8. Two dogs maximum with required vaccines (proof if needed) unless prior arrangements have been made. Pick up your dog’s waste and dispose of properly. Dogs must remain on a leash at all times, not be left unattended at any time, and have to be under command.  Any aggressive, disruptive or destructive behavior will not be tolerated. If staying in a studio or cabin, do not bring a dog without prior notification (notify by disclosing on reservation or communicated by email, text, etc.).
  9. Children must be under adult supervision at all times while on property and parents are responsible for children’s behavior and safety. Any disruptive or destructive behavior will not be tolerated.
  10. Zip line and climbing tower are not in use at this time, please keep off. If observed on any of the lines, platforms or towers, you will be asked to leave the property without refund, no exceptions.
  11. Keep camp sites clean and tidy. Trash is to be contained at all times and placed in the dumpster.
  12. Please assist with keeping bathhouses clean and to a high standard. No personal items are to be left in showers, on hooks or on counter tops, they will be discarded if found.
  13. No outside firewood or deliveries of firewood permitted as to not introduce invasive species to our wooded
  14. grounds. This includes all wood stoves in space rentals as well to prevent chimney buildup.  Our manager takes care of all firewood needs with very reasonable pricing on bundles or bulk loads. No refunds will be issued on unused wood purchased.
  15. No fires outside of fire ring and only firewood is to be burned in fire rings. Do not leave fires unattended.
  16. No fires when under a burn ban and if a fire is discovered while under a ban, you will be asked to leave without refund, no exceptions.
  17. Seasonal guests are responsible for site upkeep by weed eating around campers and to dispose of trash in the dumpster at the back of the property.
  18. No washing of campers other than seasonal guests which is allowed one time/season and to be scheduled.
  19. No permanent structures allowed on sites and do not nail to trees, decks or structures. No cutting or trimming of standing trees.
  20. Items left on site after designated check out will be subject to a fee for removal and will be charged to original payment method.
  21. No generators or outside permanent appliances (refrigerators, freezers, etc.) permitted.
  22. Absolutely no fireworks or loud music at any time.
  23. No washer/dryer use in campers permitted as it can overload septic systems and cause sewer back up.
  24. No 4 wheelers, go carts, golf carts, dirt bikes, mini bikes, or side by sides permitted per insurance restrictions.
  25. Motorcycles with excessively loud exhaust that do not comply with local and state laws will not be permitted.
  26. No vehicle repairs or maintenance permitted on property at any time.
  27. EV charge of $10/day, please notify of any EV charging prior to arrival.
  28. Each site to accommodate a family with one camper and/or tent with one vehicle (additional vehicles will need approval prior to arrival), please do not park in empty sites or in the road. No tents are allowed on RV sites unless previously arranged before arrival.  EZ ups and canopies are permitted, but must be secured tightly as not to become airborne causing injury or damage.
  29. Each site and/ or space rental will receive one parking pass to be displayed at all times on property. Additional parking passes can be purchased subject to parking availability.
  30. Visitors must follow campground rules and are the responsibility of the guests. No parties allowed and use of the pavilions is per reservation or approval by management. All visitors must vacate property by 10 pm.
  31. Alcoholic beverages are allowed with responsible behavior, drunkenness/improper behavior will not be tolerated.
  32. No smoking (cigarettes, cigars, pipes, marijuana, etc.)/vaping in bathhouses, pavilions, in cabins/studios or on the porches of cabins/studios. Cigarette butts not to be thrown on ground or in fire pits.
  33. Use hiking trails, biking trails and sliding rock waterfall at your own risk.
  34. Seasonal sites cannot be subleased nor rented on a short-term basis.
  35. All seasonal campers must vacate the property on October 31st and sites left as they were found.
  36. If camping in a rental camper, the owner’s name and contact information must be provided at the time of booking.
  37. The majority of the property is wooded and every effort is made to remove unhealthy trees and dead limbs. PCR is not liable for damages sustained from falling limbs or trees.
  38. Please do not kill any wildlife. There are no venomous snakes due to the high altitude and the majority of the snakes on the property are black snakes which play an important role with rodent control, they can be relocated if needed.
  39. Management reserves the right to ask guests to leave at any time due to violation of rules/laws, disturbance, improper conduct and/or property damage without refund.
  40. Winter camping responsibility (late fall to early spring): With the winter season comes the potential of freezing temperatures, campers are required to disconnect water hose from the spigot/hydrant, using from fresh water tanks with any freezing temperatures (heat tape and heated hoses are not enough to prevent freezing of the spigot/hydrant).  Freezing of the spigot/hydrant can cause significant damage which is costly and will be at the responsibility of the guest which can range from $500-1000 for repair plus the cost lost revenue during repair as water service will be disrupted to other guests.
  41. Outstanding balances will be billed to card on file on day of check out.
  42. PCR is privately owned. All guest hereby releases and indemnifies PCR, its owners and employees from any and all liability for damage, theft or injury to property, persons or pets while on property.

Lodge, Studios, and Cabin Rules and Regulations

  3. If not checked out by 11 am and not on property, we reserve the right to remove belongings to ensure the space is ready for the next guest
  4. Quiet time is from 10 pm to 8 am
  5. No smoking in any property, pavilions, and on lodge/cabin/studio porches
  6. Smoking indoors will incur a $250 cleaning fee
  7. No ashtrays are provided
  8. No loud music in any space or common areas such as pavilions, porches, or decks
  9. No fireworks of any kind
  10. Please be respectful of your neighbors and mindful of noise levels
  11. Parking is designated for each space and is marked on the map sent with check-in instructions. Please do not park in other spaces unless preapproved and parking is for one vehicle.  Preapproval before arrival is needed if bringing additional vehicles.  A parking pass will be issued for each space and additional parking passes can be purchased based on parking availability.
  12. Please do not remove anything from the spaces. Comforters, blankets, towels, etc. are not to be taken outside.
  13. Please do not dispose of grease down drains and unclogging of drains will be an additional cost to the guest.
  14. Firewood for the wood stoves must be purchased from us as some wood can cause chimney build up which can cause chimney fires. Please do not burn paper products, plastic or twigs in any wood stove.  If unfamiliar with wood stoves, please contact us and we will be happy to provide instructions.
  15. Fishing is allowed only for registered guests with the purchase of a trout pass for $10 that allows for the harvest of 1 fish. No catch/release and barbless hooks are to be used to prevent damage to fish. Max 4 passes/day and no fishing after your check out time. Fishing is for recreation and for what you can use, not to stock a freezer. No cleaning of fish inside cabins or studios, there is an area next to the Outpost Pavilion where fish can be cleaned.
  16. Dogs are welcome with a 2-dog max and a pet fee of $25/dog to allow for proper cleaning
  17. The pet fee must be paid prior to check in information being sent and if ignored, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation.
  18. Please do not bring a dog without prior notification, we are on property and will ask to collect the pet fee. Please do not ruin our pet friendliness for others.
  19. Dogs must be well-behaved, nonaggressive, house trained, under voice/e-collar command and remain on a leash while on property
  20. No pee pads allowed, and waste must be picked up/disposed properly.
  21. Dogs must always be supervised and not left on property alone at any time.
  22. Any disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, and guest will be asked to leave. This includes uncontrolled barking that is not corrected.
  23. Damage to property by dogs will be the sole responsibility of the guest.
  24. All other pets will need preapproval prior to check-in.
  25. Dogs shall be vaccinated and if any issue, proof of vaccination will be required.
  26. Check out instructions.
  27. Please leave the Lodge/Studio/Cabin in the condition in which you found it.
  28. Leave beds unmade and place used towels on the bathroom floor.
  29. Wash dishes and place in drying rack or place dishes in dishwasher and start.
  30. Please only use the dishwasher tabs or dishwasher liquid provided.
  31. Collect trash into kitchen can.
  32. Turn heat to 62˚ or air to 80˚.
  33. Turn off all lights and fans.
  34. Please text when you leave (828-528-5559).
  35. We do not employee a cleaning service as we manage and clean all of our cabins and studios. We are very hands-on and know what our spaces look like prior to arrival and after departure.  We take great pride in ensuring all our guests have wonderful stays and ask that the cabins/studio be left in the condition in which it was found.

Cancellation, Alteration, and Refund Policy

There are no refunds after check-in.  Refunds will not be given due to weather conditions, voluntary departure, acts of nature, or evictions.  Any refund for pre-check-in cancellations will be processed by the same method that the reservation was originally paid. Shortening of stay or modification is subject to cancellation policy.

  • 15 or more days in advance: 10% cancellation fee
  • 7-14 days in advance: 50% cancellation fee
  • 0-7 days in advance: 100% cancellation fee
